You are a network technician for a small corporate network. You need to configure a new employee’s workstation (named Office2) so it can connect to the local network and the Internet. Your network is connected to the Internet as shown in the Exhibits.

Your task in this lab is to:

  • Configure the Local Area Connection’s TCP/IP version 4 properties in the Office2 operating system as follows:
    • Use the following IP address: 168.0.181
    • Use the following subnet mask: 255.255.0
    • For the default gateway address, choose the appropriate address for the Router as shown in the Exhibits.
    • For the DNS server address, use the address of the ISP as shown in the Exhibits.
  • Confirm that Office2 has a connection to the local network and the Internet by viewing the diagram in the Network and Sharing Center.

  • Click the Office2 monitor icon shown in Office 2 to go to the operating system.
  • In the Task Bar, click the network icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
  • Click the Local Area Connection
  • Click the Properties
  • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
  • To manually configure the IP address and default gateway, select Use the following IP address:. Type the required configuration values identified in the table above. Click OK.
  • Click Close.
  • Click Close.

To confirm that the workstation is connected to the network and the Internet, click on the network icon in the Task Bar and select Open Network and Sharing Center. The diagram should indicate an active connection to the network and the Internet.
