normal cells: like sticking themselves to a normal surface; normal substrate is extracellular matrix protein (such as collagen)tumor cells: detach readily (don’t stick) and secrete extracellular protolitic enzymes that degrade the proteins that attach to solid support (intrinsically slippery)
