You are a network technician for a small corporate network. Recently, you created a wireless network to allow laptops and mobile devices to make a connection to the wired network and the Internet. However, without additional configuration, the wireless access point will allow connections from any laptop or mobile device. Because you recognize this as a vulnerability, you now need to secure the wireless network from unauthorized connections.
Your task in this lab is to secure the wireless network as follows:
- Change the settings on the wireless access point as follows:
- Use CorpNetWireless for the SSID. Note: The SSID name is case sensitive.
- Use WPA2-PSK authentication, with AES for encryption.
- Configure CoRpN3t421 as the security key. Note: The security key is case sensitive.
- Change the wireless access point’s administrator authentication credentials from their defaults as follows:
- Username: @dm1n
- Password: N3tw0rkPr@
- Note: Do not save the credentials in Internet Explorer
- Configure the laptop in the Executive Office (named Exec-Lap) to connect to the wireless network and save the wireless profile with the settings as listed above.
Note: To view and configure the wireless access point:
- Use Internet Explorer within the Networking Closet server.
- Go to 168.0.1, and use the following default authentication credentials:
- Username: admin
Password: password
