What is thoracic outlet syndrome and why is it important?

It is where the thoracic outlet gets smaller through hypertrophy of the muscles. The hypertrophy causes the thoracic space to get smaller which decreases the space for the brachial plexus (compression on the nerves) and decreased blood flow to the extremities
